Water filters for drip irrigation systems

Filters are essential on all drip irrigation systems.

The Standard Home and Garden Filters listed below are commonly used for home gardens with a city water faucet. Y filters have larger screens and higher flow capabilities and will operate longer between cleanings than Tee or In-line filters. These filters should not be used before a timer or valve in a system (ie: they should not be left under constant pressure)

With either 155 mesh or 200 mesh STAINLESS STEEL SCREEN and flush valve. Male Pipe Thread on inlet and outlet. 840 GPH maximum flow rate.

With POLY SCREEN (155 mesh or 200 mesh) and hose threaded cap. Male Pipe Thread on inlet and outlet. 840 GPH maximum flow rate.

These screens fit both models (Deluxe and Standard) of both Hose Thread and Pipe Thread filters.

TEE, IN-LINE, & DISK FILTERS

TEE FILTERS

For smaller systems (480 GPH or less) having clean water. Tee Filter has Female Hose swivel on the inlet for attaching to a faucet or end of a hose, Male Hose thread on outlet, and it has an easy to remove (Hose cap) stainless steel screen .

TEE FILTER EXTRA SCREENS

FINE SCREEN IN-LINE FILTER

FINE SCREEN in line filter is low cost 200 mesh plastic screen for use with misters and Tape systems. It has Female Hose Thread swivel for easy installation. 420 GPH maximum flow.

STANDARD IN-LINE FILTER

A simple filter for homes with clean water. It works effectively but must be disconnected from the system to be cleaned. It has a 120 mesh nylon screen inside a black plastic body. Female Hose Thread (non swivel) x Male Hose Thread.

HEAVY DUTY DISC FILTERS

Arkal DISC FILTERS

If you have organic matter (algae) in your water supply (pond, creek, lake, river) this may be what you're looking for. The stacked discs in the Arkal filter are more durable and easier to clean than screen or cartridges. They must be removed from the filter body for cleaning. These all have male pipe threads on both filter inlet and outlet; so if you're connecting to a faucet or hose you'll have to use pipe thread to hose thread adaptors on both inlet and outlet of the filter. Maximum pressure for these Arkal filters is 140 PSI. NOTE: these should not be used to filter out sediment.

3/4" Filters

960 GPH flow, 140 Mesh. Model 641s-FAV34 is same filter with built in valve to shut off the water flow and to allow for easy cleaning.

1" Filters

REPLACEMENT DISC SETS FOR ARKAL FILTERS

1" and 1 1/2" Arkal filters use the same size disc set.

Amiad CONSTANT PRESSURE FILTERS

for Debris and Sediment

These Amiad filters use a standard 155 mesh stainless steel screen with a heavily reinforced frame and can handle pressures up to 140 PSI (except the Tagline filters [on right hand sidebar] which have a maximum 110 PSI). The Super Filters have double sized screens for twice the filtering area)

All of the Amiad Filters have Male Pipe Threads on both inlet and outlet. When connecting a Pipe Thread filter to a faucet or hose you will need to adapt both the inlet and outlet of the filter. Refer to Faucet to Mainline Tubing Adapter section on this page.
